About the Role

The Business Development Manager at Wazee Crane, a division of the Timken Company, is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth by boosting sales and maintaining strong customer relationships in the overhead crane market. This role involves contributing to marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives, and supports the company's mission to improve efficiency in industrial equipment and motion solutions globally. The position reports to the Wazee Crane Business Manager and is based in Broomfield, CO.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute plans to increase sales of overhead material handling equipment and related services.
  • Independently develop and maintain positive customer relationships through regular communication to assess needs, follow-up, and convert opportunities into profitable sales.
  • Proactively send, maintain records of, and follow up on all quotes for sales of overhead material handling equipment and related services.
  • Contribute to activities related to existing product sales, market share increase, sales and product promotions, collateral materials, trade shows, and marketing communications.
  • Provide commercial and contractual input into bid preparation and support, collaborating with the proposals team for successful bid submission.
  • Meet company key performance objectives for sales, profitability, and safety.
  • Ensure customer inquiries are handled professionally, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the company's capabilities, services, and products.
  • Perform all aspects of the sales function professionally, managing time and priorities effectively.
  • Build customer confidence through problem-solving and persuasive sales techniques.
  • Willing to travel 35%+ of the time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer service; 10 years preferred.
  • Familiarity with quote generation in ERP systems.
  • 5 years of experience working in a crane/bridge industry, manufacturing, or construction preferred.
  • Technical estimating experience preferred.
  • Skilled in MS 365/Office Suite.
  • General knowledge of industrial industries, with strong sales, electrical, and mechanical aptitudes.
  • Ability to adjust to market demands and perform multiple tasks.
  • High energy level and ability to handle high stress situations.
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with CRM and ERP software.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and professionalism.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the overhead bridge crane industry.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
