Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the entire Mercury Marine dealer network within the assigned sales zone by building relationships with dealers, OEMs, and customers.
  • Develop and implement strategic territory growth plans and sales strategies based on customer feedback and market environment.
  • Coach, consult, develop, and grow sales volume, market share, and profitability to meet Mercury Marine's objectives.
  • Develop a strategy to service existing accounts and develop new business opportunities.
  • Monitor weekly reports and take tactical actions such as dealer calls, visits, inventory checks, and participating in boat shows and dealer events.
  • Utilize computer and CRM tools to manage customer accounts and communicate customer requirements across departments.
  • Travel within the territory, including at least 60% overnight travel, to visit dealer locations and attend events.
  • Work jointly with inside customer account representatives, service personnel, and credit personnel to achieve sales goals.
  • Attend Mercury-sponsored events, boat shows, open-houses, and dealer events, including weekends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of related business experience within the Marine Industry, Recreational Industry, or in Sales, Business, or Marketing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Internet/Intranet, and CRM tools, especially when working remotely.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel at least 60% overnight.

  • Strong data analysis and computer skills with the ability to understand and analyze data and trends.
  • A practical "nose for business" and strong problem-solving skills both strategically and tactically.
  • High sense of urgency, low ego, high confidence, and credibility to be convincing and persuasive when faced with resistance.

Qualifications

  • Educational background including a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Marine or Recreational Industry, or in Sales, Business, or Marketing.
