The Business Development Manager will focus on developing the Connectors business within the Transportation & Industrial markets, acting as an interface for market trends and developments, and working closely with regional sales teams to grow the business.

Key Responsibilities

Develop new business in the T&I market and act as regional interface for market developments in North America.
Drive development of new business, new product opportunities, and design-in activities with strategic customers, either directly or by supporting the Sales team.
Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders at strategic customers and within the industry.
Work closely with Product Managers, Sales, and Product Development to grow the business.
Build and present product and application presentations to existing and potential customers, demonstrating value propositions and expertise in interconnect technologies.
Identify opportunities to expand the product portfolio and provide input and proposals for new products and related technologies.
Coordinate and manage the execution of new product development initiatives.

Requirements

Economic and/or technical background, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree, or 10+ years of connector market experience in lieu of a degree.
10+ years of business development, sales, or product management experience in connectors or related industry.
Familiarity with design-in/spec-in and buying processes in the connectors or related industry.
Proven track record of creating new business.
Strong technical understanding.
Ability to manage customer engagements directly, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Hands-on, highly self-motivated/self-initiated team player with demonstrated leadership skills across departments.
Organizational skills to anticipate, prioritize, plan, and organize to meet and exceed strategic objectives with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Willingness to travel and spend the majority of working hours with potential or existing customers.

Nice to Have

Experience in the Transportation & Industrial markets (Rail, Heavy Vehicles, Energy).
Experience in Harsh Environment Circular Connectors.

Qualifications

Educational background in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred, or 10+ years of connector market experience in lieu of degree.
