About the Role

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for managing and strategically growing Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits' business through influential leadership. This role involves achieving revenue, margin, and gross profit targets, analyzing market trends, and providing conflict resolution and relationship management within the assigned territory. The company is a leading beverage distributor committed to a supportive and inclusive culture, investing in its people with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for achieving revenue, margin, and gross profit targets as set by the Sales Director.
  • Communicate local program spending effectiveness to maximize the company's profits.
  • Help determine the ROI on outlined focused initiatives.
  • Responsible for accurately analyzing and projecting quarterly and monthly business for the assigned territory.
  • Strategically provide the shared team with conflict resolution, removal of performance obstacles, and relationship concerns among key accounts in the region.
  • Identify market trends and developments in product categories, geographic regions, and among the entire account base to stay ahead of the competition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or 3-5 years of industry-related sales experience.
  • 3-5 years of industry-related sales experience.
  • Possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of registration and insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Manage and stay within a budget assigned on behalf of the company.
  • Demonstrate a strategic, analytical thought process.
  • Possess a clear understanding of financial acumen.
  • Ability to analyze data to anticipate potential issues and model solutions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and commercial planning capabilities.
  • Proficient in using Compass, Diver, Excel, and Proof.
  • Ability to understand supplier strategies and align with internal and external teams.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with financial analysis and modeling.
  • Knowledge of the beverage distribution industry.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Business Administration or related field.
  • Industry-related sales experience of 3-5 years.
