The role is based in Boston, MA, within the North America Advanced Industries Capabilities & Insights team, part of McKinsey’s global Client Capabilities Network, focusing on the semiconductor industry and supporting clients across the semiconductor value chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative solutions for clients within the semiconductor industry and other advanced industries.
  • Support consulting teams and clients in analyzing the competitiveness of clients, evaluating key financial figures, highlighting technology and product strategies, and calculating market sizes.
  • Collaborate with a global team to build expertise, share new ideas, and set new benchmarks for best practices.
  • Lead or support entrepreneurial initiatives and special projects that drive McKinsey's innovation.
  • Work with client teams or lead independent ventures to shape work and directly influence projects.
  • Participate in strategic projects involving industry analysis, market research, and financial evaluation.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics, engineering, or related fields.
  • 1+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, market research, and/or corporate strategy.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of economic, financial, and general business concepts.
  • Strong performance in PowerPoint, Excel, Word; Tableau, Alteryx not required but a plus.
  • Eligible individuals must have indefinite US work authorization; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the firm.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree, MSc, MBA or equivalent in engineering/economics or similar.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics, engineering, or related fields.
  • 1+ years of experience in relevant industries.
