Job Description

About the Role

The Category Development Analyst (Walmart Advisorship) will be primarily responsible for analyzing data and providing unbiased insights and recommendations externally to Walmart, to optimize total performance. The role involves working closely with the Director, Category Development & Insights and Category Development Managers to influence category strategy and initiatives across Walmart bakery categories. The analyst should demonstrate strong technical skills, interpret data, develop insights and presentations, execute space management projects, and interact with Walmart merchant customers. The position is based in Bentonville, AR, within a company that values growth, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic support through data capture, data analysis, and planogram development
  • Function autonomously and make decisions independently working with business unit leaders and core customers
  • Build market share reports to detail overall performance, gaps to Rest of Market, and opportunities for development
  • Develop and deliver seamless data solution tools for Circana, Scintilla, and other external data sources
  • Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recognize and anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting and translate insight into retail action
  • Assist in the development of analytical reporting tools and resources to measure and track category performance across all formats
  • Maintain hierarchy attribution within Circana/IRI and Scintilla platforms
  • Support modular ticketing and traiting process

Requirements

  • Strong numeric and advanced analytics aptitude
  • Basic technical aptitude with web-based tools and advanced proficiency of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency in the use of Scintilla
  • Ability to understand and influence cross-functional inputs to Merchandising for achieving better output results
  • High comfort level with working in an ambiguous, fast paced environment
  • Ability to solve complex problems
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills (speaking, writing, presenting)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in syndicated data sources such as IRI/Circana or Nielsen

Nice to Have

  • Experience with syndicated data sources such as IRI/Circana or Nielsen
  • Experience in category management or retail analytics
  • Knowledge of retail space management and planogram development

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Scintilla and external data sources like Circana/IRI
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
