About the Role

The Channel Marketing Manager at Domtar is responsible for developing and implementing B2B marketing strategies for specific channels, driving sales and brand awareness. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this role requires a passionate, results-driven, creative marketer who will be a subject matter expert and source of market intelligence for their channels. The position involves establishing relationships with channel customers and partners, communicating value propositions, and executing marketing programs to increase product sales within the paper industry. The role is based in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and is full-time and permanent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate a deep understanding of paper products and associated industries, including market trends, competitors, and customer needs across retail, .com, and B2B channels.
  • Deliver periodic marketplace analysis and audits, including key account sales analysis, promotional schedules, business opportunity analysis, and competitive landscaping.
  • Identify and execute areas of opportunity for market research to support business priorities and strategies.
  • Analyze industry data sources for trends, impact, and insights, and develop communication strategies for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish and execute channel strategy through collaboration with product management, sales leadership, and sales operations.
  • Develop the long-range strategy for assigned channel and conduct analysis of Domtar's value proposition, competitive landscape, and customer trends.
  • Develop, execute, and communicate the value proposition and key messaging for the customer/channel.
  • Maintain knowledge of product lines sold into the assigned channel to enable effective marketing programs and creative execution.
  • Define branding strategy and ensure consistency across all brand touchpoints to drive growth and success.
  • Develop sector-specific communication plans, including campaign strategies, in collaboration with sales teams.
  • Set goals for tradeshows and events, develop success metrics, and conduct research on target personas and customer needs.
  • Identify marketing opportunities for face-to-face customer engagement and support product training when required.
  • Lead omni-channel marketing efforts to drive sales, increase customer engagement, and loyalty within the assigned channel.
  • Manage analysis and communication of promotional programs, developing sales tools and collateral specific to the channel.
  • Identify key resources at trade publications and associations.
  • Manage partnerships and projects with internal and external agencies and vendors.

Requirements

  • BS/BA required in marketing or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sales/marketing with demonstrated effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce or Pardot.
  • Excellent presentation skills and proven cross-functional team leadership experience.
  • Successful project management experience and knowledge of marketing, sales, and business processes.
  • Ability to analyze data for strategic insights and develop digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong communication skills, customer focus, and creativity.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience in developing and managing marketing strategies for channels, preferably in the paper industry is a plus.
