Commercial & Content Lead

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Position GlobalData as a leading service provider and thought leader within the CMO/CDMO industry.
• Build strong client relationships to understand market needs and deliver value.
• Collaborate with the Sales team to realize commercial objectives and drive business growth, focusing on sales intelligence solutions.
• Lead and organize pre-sales meetings, delivering compelling value propositions to top CMO/CDMO clients.
• Identify and pursue consulting opportunities through active industry networking.
• Achieve a set annual revenue target from the CMO/CDMO sector.
• Represent GlobalData at major industry conferences (e.g., Arena, DCAT, CPhI), executing face-to-face meetings per event.
• Conduct additional in-person and virtual client meetings outside conferences.
• Maintain a cadence of monthly face-to-face client meetings, approximately 30% new business and 70% existing clients.
• Ensure prompt, professional responses to client inquiries and host quarterly feedback sessions.
• Monitor market trends and the competitive outsourcing landscape to drive continuous product improvement.
• Ensure timely production of outsourcing reports, expert commentary, and proprietary content.
• Manage a team of 2-3 analysts to deliver timely, actionable insights and analyses.
• Oversee production of Monthly BioPharma Outsourcing Reports, Quarterly Emerging Markets Outsourcing Reports, and 4-6 Trend Reports annually.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the analyst team, fostering a culture of collaboration and commercial expertise.
• Provide coaching to enhance team confidence in client-facing interactions and commercial skills.

Requirements

• A postgraduate degree (MSc, PhD, or MBA) in Life Science, Business, or equivalent.
• Understanding of the pharmaceutical contract manufacturing industry is essential.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in the industry.
• Experience in client interactions (written, verbal, web meetings, face-to-face) with a strong commercial focus.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills with strong business acumen.
• Expertise in using Excel and ability to produce PowerPoint presentations.
• High level of both written and verbal communication skills.
• Focus on quality, process improvements, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well with global teams as a team player.
• Willingness and visa/passport eligibility to travel overseas as necessary.

Nice to Have

• Experience in sales or business development within the pharma or outsourcing sector.
• Knowledge of market analysis and industry reporting.

Qualifications
