About the Role

The Community Field Engagement Specialist is responsible for implementing the Community Engagement department's strategic plan, representing EmblemHealth and its New York-based companies and brands as a socially responsible health partner in diverse communities. The role involves providing on-the-ground insights, supporting strategic partnerships, coordinating events, and promoting growth and retention through community engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Connect EmblemHealth with communities by working through community partners to develop events and opportunities that promote growth.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for EmblemHealth in the community and execute events.
  • Generate event-related lists and data management, handle administrative tasks such as requesting and submitting sponsorship proposals and invoices, and manage inventory like giveaways.
  • Interact professionally with community partners, representing the brand and the business's interests.
  • Maintain communication with clinical partners, hospitals, FQHCs, and providers supporting community engagement strategies.
  • Identify, assess, and develop community assets for collaboration.
  • Guide partners in creating optimal opportunities for the company.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly event calendars, reports on health initiatives and outcomes, and order supplies for events.
  • Prepare weekly calendars of appointments and opportunities.
  • Report progress on initiatives through data dashboards and presentations.
  • Partner with internal teams to execute the enterprise mission in communities.
  • Coordinate with Sales teams to maximize events for growth and retention.
  • Coordinate with Care Management to execute programs impacting members' health.
  • Identify opportunities through community partnerships to support health measures and build a network of community leaders and organizations for partnership programming in communities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations/Communications or a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of relevant, professional work experience.
  • Working knowledge of and experience with the New York metro area and its diverse communities.
  • Experience in community building, event programming, marketing, or sales.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal) with all types/levels of audiences.
  • Knowledge of New York's health insurance marketplace, products, and industry.
  • Basic knowledge of community relations programming with measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to build and strengthen community relationships across multiple geographies within the New York metro area.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines with prompt and clear responses.
  • Community engagement experience within diverse geographies.
  • Excellent team collaboration skills and ability to build coalitions internally and externally.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the five boroughs, Westchester, and Long Island.
  • Willingness and ability to work off-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
