About the Role

The Customer Accounts Manager at Aaron's drives the success of the stores by leading the customer accounts department with the primary goal of achieving company standards for collections and lease renewals. The role involves strategically influencing team performance to help customers achieve their ownership goals and supporting operational functions under the direction of the General Manager. This position requires building authentic customer relationships, managing accounts, and ensuring operational efficiency to contribute to the store's overall success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attain and maintain customers' accounts by updating customer information in the store computer system and documenting all customer payment appointments.
  • Assist the General Manager with operational functions including account recommendations, payment frequency, and payment history monitoring for accuracy.
  • Build authentic customer relationships to support customers in their ownership goals and drive sales.
  • Manage the collections process by counseling customers to gain timely lease/merchandise renewals.
  • Review and close lease agreements, including confirming customer identification, collecting money, and obtaining customer signatures.
  • Contact customers who have not renewed merchandise agreements.
  • Maintain customer contact via phone and home visits, and update customer information for accuracy.
  • Manage the entire accounts staff to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
  • Clean and certify merchandise in the cleaning station for all merchandise personally returned.
  • Complete and maintain weekly vehicle maintenance and route sheets daily.
  • Load, secure, and protect product in company vehicle and operate the vehicle safely.
  • Assist the Sales Team as needed.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties requested by management.

Requirements

  • United States: at least 21 years old with a valid state Driver's License and compliance with the Company's Driver Qualification Policy, including satisfactory MVR.
  • Canada: at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to work a schedule of hours varying from 8 am to 9 pm.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without help and up to 300 lbs. with assistance of a dolly.
  • Two years of college or two years of previous management experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High energy with the ability to perform all store functions and multitask effectively.
  • Proper telephone etiquette.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Meet DOT requirements to obtain certification in required states (United States).

Nice to Have

  • Two years of college or two years of previous management experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
