About the Role

The Designer, Social Media is responsible for creating creative assets including static, animation, and video content that support JetBlue's social media strategy and enhance its social media presence. The role involves working closely with the social media team and other departments within marketing, brand, customer service, and corporate communications to produce content aligned with company goals and brand identity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design on-brand and channel-specific content assets (static, animated, and video) for social media channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, and TikTok.
  • Work closely with social media content creators on storyboards, content capture, graphic treatments, and final assets for videos.
  • Develop and maintain social media-specific visual and design guidelines and standards in coordination with the brand team.
  • Ensure all posts meet brand and social visual guidelines and align with JetBlue's overall brand and visual identity as well as social trends and norms.
  • Participate actively in social media team meetings, content ideation sessions, and content capture.
  • Manage projects and timelines to ensure social media content is completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain knowledge of current social media, digital design trends, and in-platform features and visual functionality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design or a related field; OR demonstrated capability with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) years of design experience in a corporate marketing environment with experience in social media design.
  • Design portfolio showcasing graphic design skills related to social media or consumer marketing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, video editing tools, CapCut, and social media platforms including in-channel functionality and scheduling tools.
  • Understanding of current social media platforms, features, functionality, norms, themes, and trends.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Understanding of social media content planning workflows.
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess a strong sense of urgency and effectively manage deadlines.
  • Strong team player with initiative and ability to work independently.
  • High attention to detail with critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Availability for occasional overnight travel (20%).
  • Able to work flexible hours and respond on short notice.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located, with authorization to work in the US.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with social media design/content creation for a large company in travel or hospitality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of social media design experience in a corporate marketing environment.
