About the Role

The Devices Product Marketing Manager, Platforms and Devices Marketing at Google plays a pivotal role in the complete marketing experience for consumer hardware products. The role involves understanding user needs, developing product positioning and go-to-market strategies, and ensuring the product is accurately represented across all marketing and sales assets. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams across various departments to deliver relevant consumer products and marketing initiatives, emphasizing the importance of connecting technology with user needs in an innovative way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers and other cross-functional team members to develop product positioning, feature development, go-to-market plans, sell-in content, and sustaining marketing strategies.
  • Develop, manage, and own relationships with a cross-functional team, including marketers on channel marketing teams, creative teams, PR, sales, customer support, and others to ensure a comprehensive approach to the product narrative.
  • Advocate for the user across cross-functional teams, ensuring all marketing strategies and tactics align with overarching product positioning, consumer needs, and messaging strategy.
  • Serve as the product expert both internally and externally to ensure the product is accurately represented across all marketing and sales assets, including a well-rounded understanding of the competition and market.
  • Gather actionable customer insights from surveys, interviews, and usability testing to inform product and marketing strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in product marketing or similar experience within consumer tech with hardware products.
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience working with software teams including feature development and GTM strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and people skills working in a matrixed organization.
  • Understanding of the GTM process from concept to launch and post-launch support.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in product marketing, consumer marketing, and insights, ideally in consumer hardware or other goods with fixed launch timelines.
  • Experience working with software teams including feature development and GTM strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range of $114,000-$163,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
