About the Role

The Product Marketing Manager, Purview Data Security at Microsoft is responsible for marketing Microsoft Purview's Data Security solutions. This role involves building a compelling narrative, increasing awareness, and driving sales, deployment, and usage of data security solutions in a rapidly growing market. The position requires collaboration across multiple stakeholders to influence product messaging and go-to-market strategies, with a focus on customer and business outcomes in the cybersecurity and AI space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end data security positioning and narrative and deliver the value proposition in messaging and content, highlighting customer challenges, key scenarios, product value, and differentiation.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure data security campaign strategy aligns with business goals and influences the full funnel from awareness to consideration, purchase, deployment, and usage.
  • Oversee the data security strategy and collaborate with various teams for successful showcase at events such as Microsoft Ignite, Secure, RSA, and others.
  • Maintain core assets such as pitch decks, demos, videos, and roadmap decks for use in customer conversations.
  • Own the data security enablement strategy and work with engineering and product marketing teams to deliver high-quality enablement sessions.
  • Engage directly with customers through briefing sessions to share current capabilities and future directions.
  • Listen to field input from sellers to influence marketing motions.
  • Influence partner marketing for partner readiness and identify opportunities to grow the Microsoft Purview Data Security business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in business OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or related field AND 3+ years of experience in business OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in creating marketing content for various audiences, including technical breakout sessions, executive keynotes, and product demos.
  • 1+ years' experience of product marketing or product management within the cybersecurity or AI space.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or related field AND 8+ years of experience in business.
  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or related field AND 6+ years of experience in business.
  • Storyteller with demonstrated ability to create narratives targeted to different segments, delivering clear outcomes and a call to action.
  • Passion to proactively learn new and emerging technologies and explain key end-user scenarios and technical architectures to technical audiences.
  • Curiosity to understand solution nuances, identify key differentiators, and simplify messaging for customers, partners, and sales teams.
  • Creative problem solver with positive, motivated, and inspiring traits.
  • Strategic thinker who is curious, resilient, goal-oriented, with a bias for action, and able to connect the big picture.
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering, sales, and marketing in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Analytical skills to use data for building and presenting business cases to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in business.
  • OR Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business, or related field AND 3+ years of experience in business.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • The role offers a base pay range of USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year across the U.S., with higher ranges in specific locations such as San Francisco Bay area and New York City, up to USD $137,600 - $222,600.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
