About the Role

The Digital Seller Intern role at IBM is part of the Entry Level Sales Program 2026, where interns prospect for and develop new business relationships, helping clients achieve their goals through IBM's solutions. The position involves becoming a subject matter expert in secure, reliable, scalable, and integrated solutions that support digital transformation, with a collaborative and experiential sales environment that emphasizes ongoing development and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Qualify leads and convert them into new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Sales team to advise and support on new business engagements during the early phases of the sales cycle.
  • Lead prospects toward IBM's solutions through sales prospecting using multiple channels including email, phone, video, and social media, which involves cold calling.
  • Engage in social selling activities such as recording video outreach campaigns and posting on social media to build thought leadership and influence potential clients.
  • Stay updated and continually improve expertise to become a trusted advisor for clients.
  • Support deal closure by engaging IBM partners and extended team members to jointly progress and close deals.

Requirements

  • Confidence to contact and engage potential new customers and deliver an elevated experience.
  • Motivation to achieve sales, business objectives, and high client satisfaction.
  • Aptitude to utilize selling technologies to network, engage clients, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Embrace curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Actively enrolled as a registered undergraduate or graduate university student pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Business, Communications, International Relations, MIS, Engineering, or similar disciplines.
  • Self-starter with motivation to work with clients and lead projects independently.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to ask open-ended questions and understand client needs.
  • Demonstrates team collaboration and can navigate different communication styles.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work without visa sponsorship, with readiness to travel up to 10% annually.

Nice to Have

  • Prior work experience in client sales or service.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Seeking B.S. or M.S. degree in relevant fields such as Business, Communications, MIS, Engineering, or similar (required).
