About the Role

The strategy team at Gap Inc. is responsible for defining and evolving the overall brand strategy, long-range plans, and annual operating plans. The role involves identifying growth opportunities, supporting executive stakeholder meetings, and developing the future strategic direction for the brand through rigorous analysis, creative thinking, and cross-functional partnership. The position offers an opportunity to work closely with brand leaders and contribute to the company's growth and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic leader and cross-functional thought partner as the brand develops its multi-year strategy, long-range plans, and annual operating plan
  • Drive Gap Inc. Corporate and Brand Strategy initiative identification, planning, and success activities, including analyzing data, creating financial models, and conducting market and competitive research
  • Synthesize findings, develop storylines, and communicate recommendations to Senior Management and Leadership Team
  • Partner with Merchandising to identify product growth opportunities and create business plans for expansion
  • Support cross-functional business partners with analytical insights and problem solving
  • Build cross-functional partnerships and consensus
  • Influence strategy for area/team

Requirements

  • Professional work experience in apparel, ideally with merchandising and go-to-market experience, and management consulting is strongly preferred
  • MBA is preferred
  • Demonstrated track record as an outstanding problem solver and strategic thinker with the ability to quickly identify key issues and develop hypotheses
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and dispersed information into simple, actionable recommendations
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with ability to oversee and provide direction to cross-functional partners and junior team members
  • Strong business acumen related to consumer-facing businesses and ability to assess impact of decisions on overall business performance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to connect and influence senior executives
  • Strong collaboration skills and a true team player attitude

Nice to Have

  • Experience in apparel with merchandising and go-to-market expertise
  • Management consulting experience
  • MBA degree

Qualifications

  • Experience in apparel industry and management consulting (preferred)
  • MBA degree (preferred)
