About the Role

BAE Systems' Intelligence & Security Sector (I&S) Intelligence Solutions (IS) Business Area is seeking a Business Development (BD) Director to lead efforts at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). This leadership position involves analyzing customer requirements, strategic objectives, funding profiles, and organizational dynamics to identify, prioritize, and develop new business opportunities. The role serves as a liaison between the Government and BAE Systems, providing insights on customer mission gaps and objectives to engineers and leadership. Focus areas include cloud solutions, cyber security, artificial intelligence, and operations. The position is located in Sterling, VA with virtual and hybrid work options, requiring regular travel to customer and company locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop opportunity pipeline with a focus on cloud, cyber, and AI opportunities
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical contact and qualification plans for the capture of key opportunities
  • Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits and develop marketing strategies
  • Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and lead phase reviews
  • Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities
  • Support creation and execution of multi-year business development strategies
  • Participate in IRAD and B&P planning as well as overhead budgets

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline; military experience can be substituted
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant BD experience including meaningful Intelligence Community expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering technology solutions to the Federal Government
  • Track record of success in leading and winning contracts greater than $50M
  • Ability to establish and use important customer relationships with senior officials and program stakeholders within defense and intelligence communities
  • Experience leading opportunity captures, developing win strategies, shaping deals, and understanding pricing
  • Background in solution selling, developing new markets, and leading strategic campaigns from inception to fruition
  • Ability to develop, document, and execute plans for achieving awards and growth
  • Knowledge of government contracting, current acquisition trends, and customer buying behaviors
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to senior executives and customers

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud solutions, cyber security, and artificial intelligence technologies
  • Experience supporting multi-year business development strategies
  • Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the market

Qualifications

  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline
  • Experience: At least 12 years of relevant business development experience, including Intelligence Community expertise
