About the Role

The Business Development Leader - Software Segment will be responsible for driving sales and growth within the software industry vertical. This role involves developing and executing go-to-market strategies, managing key client relationships, and acquiring new software customers. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in selling IT, Engineering, and other services to software companies, with a strong track record in new customer acquisition and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead new customer acquisition efforts, engaging with prospective clients to understand their needs and position TCS's value proposition effectively.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities within the software segment.
  • Strengthen relationships with existing software customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with delivery and technical teams to craft tailored solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies, collaborating with internal stakeholders across marketing, presales, and delivery teams.
  • Stay up to date with market trends, emerging technologies, and the competitive landscape within the software sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including C-level executives, in target organizations.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring successful contract negotiations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in sales/business development in IT, Engineering, or consulting services.
  • Strong experience in selling to software companies, including both large enterprises and high-growth SaaS firms.
  • Proven track record in new customer acquisition and growing existing accounts.
  • Deep understanding of the software industry's technology landscape, business challenges, and opportunities.
  • Strong consultative sales approach with experience in solution selling.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a global, matrixed environment.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
