About the Role

The Director of Event Sales will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies across private events at the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas. Reporting to the General Manager, this role involves leading a sales team, driving revenue growth, and fostering relationships with clients and stakeholders. The position is integral to maximizing event sales, managing performance metrics, and ensuring compliance with policies within a dynamic, high-profile venue managed by Legends & ASM Global.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as department head for event sales functions, leading a team of managers overseeing various sales functions including private events and catering.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, campaigns, and initiatives related to private events to maximize revenue.
  • Create and implement training initiatives to increase sales team productivity and performance.
  • Proactively solicit new business through sales calls, presentations, trade shows, and client prospecting.
  • Create dashboards and virtual CRM reports to manage and track campaign performance and sales productivity.
  • Participate in planning meetings to discuss cross-departmental revenue opportunities and collaborate with team members.
  • Assist in the creation and management of budgets and business plans.
  • Monitor daily revenue, manage campaigns, and communicate sales team performance to the Legends team.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with customers and act as a positive ambassador of the Legends brand.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies.
  • Analyze marketplace trends and adjust marketing and pricing strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and document standards for private event procedures.
  • Oversee the upkeep and administrative tasks related to sales software systems.
  • Partner with marketing stakeholders to develop campaigns and strategies to drive sales.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accurate processing of invoices, billing, and transfers.
  • Serve as an onsite venue ambassador during client tours and event days.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in high-volume sales management.
  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in private events.
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Proven leadership experience including coaching, mentoring, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Expertise in financial analysis, planning, budgeting, and deal structuring.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver recommendations to senior management.
  • Organization and planning skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of CRM and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Practice safe work habits and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Some travel (local, domestic, and international) may be required.

  • Experience with venue management or attraction operations.
  • Experience working with government or military-related organizations.
  • Knowledge of the hospitality and live events industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university.
