About the Role

The Director of Sales develops and executes strategic sales plans through direct sales, marketing, e-commerce channels, public relations, and community partnerships. The role involves leading and supporting sales associates, developing business strategies, maintaining key client relationships, and achieving revenue goals to enhance customer value and hotel performance within HHM Hotels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans across various channels including direct sales, marketing, e-commerce, public relations, and community partnerships.
  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support sales associates to ensure performance aligns with brand standards and HHM core values.
  • Use internal and external resources and data to develop strategic plans that incorporate all business segments.
  • Support corporate and hotel goals and contribute to the enhancement of customer value.
  • Identify customer business requirements and craft customer offers to increase hotel revenue share.
  • Monitor sales team achievement of objectives and take corrective actions for shortfalls versus the annual marketing plan.
  • Achieve annual hotel revenue goals as established in the budget.
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts to increase customer satisfaction and account revenue.
  • Use professional sales techniques to negotiate terms and close sales opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain a current annual marketing plan with measurable initiatives for each business segment.
  • Model proper selling techniques, develop others, and demonstrate industry and personal development commitment.
  • Develop effective presentations to clearly communicate ideas, opinions, and recommendations.
  • Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines related to HHM's EarthView program.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree required; additional coursework in business administration, marketing, or communications is a plus.
  • Previous sales experience in a comparable hotel size and scope is required.
  • Operations experience is preferred.
  • Public relations and community marketing experience required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, Delphi, and Access database tools.

Nice to Have

  • Additional/advanced degree coursework in business administration, marketing, and communications.
  • Operations experience in hotel management.
