About the Role

The Global Marketing Director for Skeletal Conditions at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. is a critical role focused on advancing the pipeline and portfolio in Skeletal Conditions, including the flagship brand VOXZOGO. The role involves leading strategic initiatives to support global growth, commercialization, and lifecycle management of products, working across regions and with key stakeholders to maximize market opportunities and develop targeted therapies for genetic disorders. The position reports to the Vice President, Global Marketing for Skeletal Conditions and requires a strong background in brand management, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic brand planning for Skeletal Conditions and business planning processes.
  • Support development of the portfolio strategy and pipeline development for Skeletal Conditions Business.
  • Partner closely with business development teams to provide commercial point of view and align decision making.
  • Develop global KOL strategy in collaboration with medical affairs.
  • Analyze the competitive environment to support portfolio and pipeline development by partnering with Asset Teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate competitive intelligence into marketing and commercialization strategies.
  • Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other global teams to align strategy and priorities.
  • Manage budget and external partners effectively.
  • Support development of lifecycle strategy to expand patient population and reach.
  • Partner with Worldwide R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and other teams to provide input into product development, label optimization, evidence generation, and lifecycle decisions.
  • Act as an ambassador for VOXZOGO and pipeline assets, engaging with key stakeholders including KOLs and Patient Advocacy Groups.
  • Represent the commercial point of view in cross-functional forums and governance meetings.
  • Demonstrate strong external focus and active engagement with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business or Life Sciences (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of professional marketing experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals.
  • Experience in in-country, regional, and global marketing roles with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Working knowledge of multiple major pharmaceutical markets.
  • Understanding of market access and medical strategy.
  • Experience planning and executing product launches and lifecycle management.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, comfortable with complexity and ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, including revenue projection and NPV analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with senior leaders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities, lead teams, and drive decision making.
  • Self-starter with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time (domestic and international).
