About the Role

The Group Creative Strategy Planner is a full-time Sr. Manager role within Disney's Yellow Shoes agency, responsible for developing creative communication strategies, translating research and client inputs into actionable briefs, and unearthing human insights and cultural trends to support marketing and business transformation programs. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing thought leadership on emerging trends, and mentoring a team of planners to deliver innovative and consumer-centric solutions. This position reports to the Director of Planning and is part of Disney Experiences, a segment dedicated to bringing Disney stories and franchises to life through theme parks, resorts, cruises, and consumer products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Distill and summarize partner strategic input into a creative brief and convey it to the creative team.
  • Lead and champion the creative development process, including briefing and providing feedback based on consumer research findings.
  • Unearth pivotal insights related to human behavior, cultural trends, and consumer dynamics such as vacation trends, family and generational behaviors, AI use, and cultural influences.
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities for marketing and business innovation, pushing boundaries of what is possible.
  • Champion consumer-centricity, creativity, innovation, and learning, advocating for the team.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging trends, shifts in digital behavior, and best practices in social media and consumer insights.
  • Stay informed about streaming, television, social media news, trends, and tools.
  • Develop relationships with key business partners across Marketing Strategy, Customer Engagement, CIMA, DX Franchise, Digital, and WDI to ensure creative solutions align with business priorities.
  • Manage and mentor a team of planners, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Balance and prioritize multiple projects, adapting as needed.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in advertising or marketing agency planning, insights and analytics, consumer research, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Workfront experience is a plus.
  • Enthusiastic, curious, and proactive attitude.
  • Strong presentation, written, and spoken communication skills.
  • Team-focused, solutions-driven mindset with the ability to multitask and organize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret data into meaningful insights and communicate impact.
  • Familiarity with social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and understanding of consumer behaviors on these platforms.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with partners and peers.

Nice to Have

  • Strong creative problem-solving and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with primary research methodologies and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
