About the Role

The Senior Creative Strategist role involves developing media strategies, brand narratives, and strategic proposals to partners across various regions, working closely with cross-functional teams and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a subject matter expert on Semafor's brand and products.
  • Understand and build on Semafor's brand story on behalf of clients.
  • Engage with genuine curiosity to understand clients' brand challenges, priorities, and objectives.
  • Utilize research and data to articulate and support strategies and creative ideas.
  • Create and design thoughtful, strategic, and engaging proposals in visual presentation formats that align with advertiser objectives and KPIs.
  • Drive processes and operationalize the organization with sales leads and post-sale teams, ensuring consistency in pre-to post-sale transition.
  • Show a clear connection between a client's brand challenge and proposed partnership solutions.
  • Leverage understanding of the media landscape, including emerging platforms and off-platform opportunities, to elevate client proposals.
  • Lead brainstorms internally and with clients, agencies, and partners to clarify asks, gather intel, and craft proposals.
  • Work directly with Semafor leadership on high-profile C-Suite pitches and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in advertiser marketing and sales.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Experience developing brand, creative, or marketing strategies for clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate revenue through marketing strategies.
  • Approaches revenue opportunities with curiosity, ingenuity, and originality.
  • Deep ownership of their work.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Google Slides/PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to work in-person in New York, NY, with 4 days a week in the office and some travel as needed.
  • Flexibility to work hours and travel domestically and internationally as required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on high-profile pitches and presentations for executive-level clients.
  • Knowledge of the media landscape, including emerging media platforms and off-platform opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in marketing, advertising, or sales roles.
