About the Role

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users. Google Discover is on a transformative journey to build the future of content consumption for a new generation of users worldwide, aiming to make it effortless for people to stay informed and entertained by connecting them with content from the creators and voices they care about most. We are seeking an experienced and data-driven growth leader to own the goal, strategy, and execution of Discover's global growth initiatives, leading a team to identify and unlock new opportunities, build a long-term roadmap, and deliver measurable impact on our user base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and articulate a clear goal and roadmap for growing the Discover user base and engagement.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers focused on key growth areas.
  • Utilize data analysis, A/B testing, and market research to identify key insights and new opportunities for growth.
  • Advocate growth initiatives across surfaces (mobile, desktop, etc.) and through internationalization efforts.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners to create mutually beneficial user experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • 5 years of experience in people management, with technical leadership.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 7 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI), sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 7 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 5 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to executive leadership.
  • 5 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Knowledge of, or continued interest in building accessibility best practices, and experience/curiosity for incorporating accessibility into product development methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Educational background includes at least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

  • US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
  • Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
