The Head of Business Development Management in the Americas will work at the forefront of the company's growth activities within the region, focusing on identifying new sales targets, creating and negotiating sales proposals, and building client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the Business Development Management (BDM) function and acting as a strategic driver of Chain IQ's growth across regions and service lines, while remaining actively involved in day-to-day execution.
  • Defining and executing the business development strategy in collaboration with executive leadership, including identifying new market opportunities and key client targets.
  • Engaging in high-stakes client interactions (including C-level and referral partners), managing key stakeholder relationships, and representing Chain IQ at a senior level.
  • Driving revenue growth by leading the development and timely submission of complex sales proposals from early-stage ideation through to detailed execution and final presentation.
  • Leading and completing complex pricing proposals to meet client needs while maintaining margin and growth strategy.
  • Leading and completing contract negotiations with prospective clients to ensure outcomes aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensuring successful client onboarding by guiding the transition from sales to service delivery in line with contractual obligations and strategic priorities.
  • Acting as a mentor and coach to the BDM team, fostering high performance, ownership, and continuous development.
  • Maintaining oversight of sales pipeline and business development activities using CRM tools and reporting regularly to executive management.
  • Promoting a strong performance culture built on integrity, client-centricity, and collaboration across functions and regions.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in business development and consultative sales at a senior level, ideally in professional services, procurement, or supply chain.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to build, motivate, and manage high-performing, cross-functional, and cross-cultural teams.
  • Willingness to take a hands-on role in executing key business development activities beyond strategic planning.
  • Exceptional project and stakeholder management skills with the ability to navigate complexity, drive decisions, and deliver results.
  • Strategic thinker with commercial acumen, data-driven decision-making skills, and a hands-on mentality when needed.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels including C-suite.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a strong sense of ownership and a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive, client-oriented mindset, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • In-depth understanding of procurement services, sourcing solutions, and client needs in a global context.
  • University degree (e.g., Business, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Fluency in English; Spanish or German languages are an asset.
  • High proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint; familiarity with CRM and sales tools.
  • Broad understanding of procurement technology solutions in the source-to-pay landscape is highly desired.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in business development and/or sales operations, with at least 3 years in a people management role.

  • Fluency in Spanish or German languages.
  • Familiarity with procurement technology solutions in the source-to-pay landscape.

Qualifications

  • University degree (e.g., Business, Economics, Engineering) or equivalent long-term industry experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in business development and/or sales operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a people manager.

  • Salary range for the New York City Metro Area is $150,000 to $204,000, plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
