About the Role

The Head of Consultant Relations, Institutional Segment at Capital Group is responsible for providing strategic guidance, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to develop and execute a national consultant engagement strategy. This role aims to position Capital Group as the strategic partner of choice to key consultant and OCIO firms, drive asset growth within the institutional business, and strengthen relationships with public fund, Taft-Hartley, and corporate segments. The position involves collaborating with various teams, representing the company at industry events, and leading efforts to deepen engagement and increase placements and ratings across multiple institutional channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, evolve, and execute a national consultant engagement strategy aligned with Capital Group's institutional growth goals.
  • Oversee the evolution and execution of the Field Consultant Strategy to deepen engagement with field consultants, retain assets, and drive cross-sell opportunities.
  • Drive the overall asset growth of the institutional business, especially amongst G4 and strategic consulting firms.
  • Partner with the broader distribution organization to develop business strategy in line with the Long-Term Strategic Plan and lead sales efforts across consultant firms.
  • Manage senior relationships with key Public Fund and Taft-Hartley focused consultant firms, including relationship building, ratings, sales, and retention.
  • Collaborate with the Public Funds, Corporate, and OCIO business development teams to increase consultant-driven placements and ratings.
  • Represent Capital Group at industry events, conferences, and consultant forums.
  • Partner with Product, Marketing, and Investment teams to develop marketing strategies and deliver tailored content and solutions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in institutional sales, consultant relations, or investment strategy roles with leadership and execution experience.
  • Deep understanding of the institutional consultant landscape, especially within Public Funds, Taft-Hartley, and Corporate segments.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives across complex organizations.
  • Strong investment acumen, including knowledge of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and investment vehicles.
  • Substantial technical knowledge of different investment products, strategies, and vehicles across asset classes.
  • Experience with an organization respected in the institutional arena.
  • CFA certification; an advanced business degree is preferred.
  • Series 7, 66 (or equivalent), and 24 licenses.
  • Ability to travel frequently to meet with a dispersed team and industry events.

  • Highly competitive base salary ranging from $267,000 to $305,000.
