About the Role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle, including licensed process technologies, advisory services, technical expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize assets. The Manager - Business Development will provide leadership in planning, organizing, managing, and continuously improving the business development and strategic development processes to achieve both short- and long-term organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis of business opportunities through market research, financial feasibility studies, and planning consistent with the organization's long-range and strategic plans.
  • Build effective, long-term relationships with new customers and maintain relationships with existing client contacts, typically up to a General Manager level.
  • Identify market opportunities and collaborate with technical teams to grow profitable revenue for the company.
  • Serve as a liaison with KBR counterparts on cross-business unit opportunities.
  • Lead the process from opportunity identification through proposal development, negotiation, preparation of internal approval documents, and contract signature.
  • Deliver a steady stream of opportunities (requisitions for proposal) for various phases of project delivery (pre-FEED, FEED, EPCM).
  • Travel approximately 50% to meet regularly with customers.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Engineering, Business (or equivalent).
  • Twelve (12)+ years of experience, including at least ten (8)+ years of industry experience and ten (4)+ years in Business Development.
  • Experience in selling capital project solutions and construction management services.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Refining, Petrochemical/Chemical, Energy Transition, and Process services industry and customer base in North and South America.
  • Experience leading opportunities from identification through proposal development, negotiation, and contract signing.
  • Ability to deliver opportunities for various project phases including pre-FEED, FEED, and EPCM.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% for customer meetings.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting information to prospective clients/owners.
  • Successful completion of a background check prior to employment.
