About the Role

The Customer Development Manager (CDM) at Tyson is responsible for leading, building, selling, communicating, and implementing collaborative business solutions that drive business results for Tyson's prepared foods and FVAP portfolio of frozen and refrigerated protein products. The role requires the candidate to be located in either Lubbock, TX or Dallas, TX, and involves developing growth plans, executing business strategies, analyzing data, and collaborating with internal teams and customers to achieve sales and profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the sales partnership with customers for assigned prepared foods and FVAP categories.
  • Meet sales volume, financial spending, and customer profit objectives.
  • Develop and lead joint growth planning across all assigned categories.
  • Align and execute multiple business strategies.
  • Understand sales deliverables and their correlation to business.
  • Implement and execute store/DC replenishment strategies.
  • Consistently deliver fact-based insights, guidance, and leadership direction to merchants and within Tyson Foods.
  • Utilize resources including syndicated data, proprietary customer data, industry publications, and internal resources to deliver line review presentations and innovation meetings.
  • Achieve sales mix and volume goals while understanding the impact on the customer's metrics.
  • Plan, forecast, and attain high volume annual growth quotas.
  • Execute promotional and product mix strategies and tactics to deliver customer profitability goals.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to create winning business propositions that benefit Tyson and the customer.
  • Analyze syndicated and internal data to drive meaningful action and results.
  • Track and report competitive activities; conduct price and volume contract negotiations.
  • Resolve and reduce deductions efficiently.
  • Work efficiently with trade software and CRM software.
  • Craft compelling narratives into sales presentations for assigned customers by effectively leveraging syndicated data insights.
  • Build strong internal cross-functional relationships to attain additional resources for Tyson initiatives at assigned customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 plus years of experience in Retail Headquarter Sales.
  • Standard computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; public speaking and presentation skills.
  • This position will have no direct reports.
  • Regular travel between Lubbock, TX and Dallas, TX.

  • Experience in retail headquarter sales.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
