About the Role

The Manager, LM Brand Packaging, Moisture is responsible for representing the culture and DNA of the brand through packaging. The role involves driving innovation in packaging concepts, technologies, and delivery systems to support marketing, product development, and design ideas. The position requires managing all aspects of the packaging development process, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with regulations, while collaborating with various internal and external teams to support product innovation and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation by presenting new packaging concepts, technologies, and delivery systems to support marketing, product development, and design ideas.
  • Provide comprehensive feasibility assessments for packaging concepts, including function, manufacturability, cost, tooling estimates, development lead time, risk, and global consistency.
  • Manage all aspects of the development process, including packaging outline development, component and package costing, supplier recommendation and selection, and failure mode analysis.
  • Support the strategic management initiative by developing detailed project timelines, managing development schedules, and identifying risks or delays.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality engineering, and other development groups to define specifications, design criteria, and ensure projects meet quality, cost, and functionality objectives.
  • Develop and implement package test plans, validate technical drawings, and ensure packages meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with global supply chain and supplier relations to ensure component availability and mitigate risks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with global manufacturing and engineering teams to facilitate efficient project execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree in Packaging Science or Engineering.
  • CIPT or IOPP certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in cosmetic package development.
  • Experience in the beauty or related industry with proven development experience.
  • Proficiency in computer systems including Unique Package Definition Systems, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and timeline management systems.
  • Technical competency in analysis of geometric objects, understanding of clearances, fit, and finish of packaging components.
  • Knowledge of materials used in primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging, including injection molding, extrusion molding, metal forming, glass forming, vacuum forming, assembly, dispensing systems, and folding carton and rigid box design.
  • Knowledge of decorating techniques and materials used on packaging.
  • Understanding of test methods used to validate component and package performance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and environmental legislation related to packaging.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Packaging Science or Engineering.
  • Professional certification (CIPT or IOPP).
