About the Role

Aniplex of America Inc. (Santa Monica, California) is a subsidiary of Aniplex Inc. The role involves overseeing the marketing department for anime production, managing campaigns, and supporting brand growth within a dynamic entertainment environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the marketing team, providing guidance and support.
  • Develop and implement marketing and brand strategy and plans to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure all marketing materials and communications are consistent with the brand's voice and guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of past and present IPs for brand awareness.
  • Maintain marketing calendar for multiple shows and production schedules on asset creation and delivery, announcements, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Support search engine optimization (SEO) and user engagement for content optimization.
  • Coordinate and oversee marketing campaigns, including events, digital, print, and social media.
  • Develop, implement, organize, and manage marketing campaigns for seasonal and legacy shows or new product releases under the supervision of a senior manager.
  • Create digital content, copy, and creative writing that aligns with creative guidelines and brand tone if necessary.
  • Support the production team with quality control of copy, synopsis, and other production documents as needed.
  • Supervise marketing events including planning, writing scripts, coordinating with various stakeholders, preparing presentations, and hosting panels (requires business travel).
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, providing reports and insights to senior management.
  • Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources under the Senior Manager's supervision.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve marketing efforts.
  • Effectively communicate and maintain relationships internally with other departments and externally with partners and agencies to ensure creative assets or campaigns are within the brand tone and positioning of the title for cohesive marketing efforts.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, demonstrating honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Marketing Supervisor or similar role with strong leadership and team management skills.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in marketing, ideally in an entertainment brand or streaming setting with a strong understanding of marketing principles, digital media, and social platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with various levels of management, peers, and partners.
  • Strong copywriting, creative writing, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated, organized, with good time management, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Calendar, Drive, Forms, Sheets).
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
  • Graphic design and video editing experience preferred.
  • Strong anime IP knowledge is preferred.
  • Japanese-English bilingual skills are a huge plus.
  • Authorized to work in the USA.
