The CAS team is global, diverse, endlessly curious and strives to make scientific insights accessible to innovators worldwide. CAS is currently seeking a Senior Marketing Research Analyst. This position will be located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for conducting secondary and primary market research, analyzing data to support strategic marketing decisions and marketing process improvement, for synthesizing data into useful and insightful information.
  • Analyze competitive and market insights collected from a variety of secondary sources and assist with crafting strategic business recommendations.
  • Manage both ad-hoc custom research as well as ongoing monitoring & reporting via weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Design and execute market research projects and develop and translate analysis, creating presentations of research and findings as well as providing ad hoc decision support to fulfill the needs of the Marketing, Sales, and Product organizations.
  • Be a proactive thought partner and encourage data/information driven decisions while promoting a higher level of data consumption and best practices to improve marketing processes.
  • Capable of in-house execution and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative primary market research, synthesizing qualitative responses or descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, as appropriate.
  • Assess the competitive tactical environment including competitors' assets, deployment, promotional messaging and CX approach to provide insights and recommendations to sales, marketing, product management, product development and senior leadership.
  • Use primary and secondary data to analyze research data to identify business-relevant patterns and trends that generate actionable insights within specified timeframes.
  • Support the preparation of reports and recommendations for the Marketing team in a manner understandable by non-technical staff.
  • Perform primary research and secondary analyses that integrate multiple sources of data, identify actionable insights, and translate complex results into simple visualizations.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing to understand and design analytical approaches to open-ended strategic business problems.
  • Serve as a technical resource on market research methodologies and become a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in the market research discipline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7-8 years of experience executing in-house primary market research, including development of screener, discussion guides, survey instruments, recruiting, and reporting.
  • Significant experience managing external research vendors and agencies.
  • 6+ years of experience conducting detailed analyses and synthesis of competitive intelligence and marketing insights data from various sources.
  • 6+ years of experience researching industries, markets, technologies, and competitors to support business development.
  • 5 years B2B Sales or Commission B2C experience preferred.
  • Ability to deliver presentations on research results, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Knowledge of primary and secondary research as well as statistics and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to achieve project outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client relationship management.
  • Ability to communicate analytical terms in non-analytical business language.
  • Balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects.
  • Problem solver and highly organized.
  • Understanding of Scientific Technology and Information market preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 7-8 years of primary market research experience
