About the Role

The Open Source and Technical Marketing Director at Sysdig is responsible for promoting open source growth and commercial viability of cloud-native security products. The role involves building technical credibility within the open source community and supporting sales efforts through content creation, strategic engagement, and market presence enhancement. Key Responsibilities

  • Promote open source growth and commercial viability by creating assets, educational content, and strategic engagement around cloud-native security products.
  • Work with the open source team, product organization, sales teams, and partners to support sales efforts and grow open-source adoption.
  • Develop strategies to convert OSS usage into commercial opportunities aligned with the Sysdig CNAPP portfolio.
  • Partner with sales to align GTM strategy, deliver sales enablement and training, support key deals, and create RFP tools and content to boost engagement.
  • Enhance Sysdig evangelism and market presence through media, thought leadership, and events.
  • Support the open-source community through content contributions and establish performance tracking and reporting to measure success and adjust strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technical sales, marketing, evangelism, product, or solutioning experience in infrastructure and enterprise software, especially security tools.
  • Experience with container ecosystems and microservices.
  • Experience working with customers, prospects, and open source communities.
  • Strong technical proficiency in containers, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, Linux, Falco, and related areas.
  • Experience creating technical content and presenting to open source communities.
  • Industry security certifications (e.g., CISSP) are encouraged.
  • Experience driving adoption of complex technical solutions and working directly with end users.

Nice to Have

  • Industry security certifications such as CISSP.

Qualifications
