About the Role

The Outbound Sales Representative (OBSR) is responsible for acquiring new logo customers in the small and medium business segments through strategic, campaign-driven outbound contact to fiber prospects. Key Responsibilities

  • Drives small and medium business customer acquisition through outbound contact and various lead sources in a fast-paced environment.
  • Executes the Strategic Build Process and other capital strategies to identify near-net opportunities that require network builds; communicates required pricing thresholds and implementation process associated with network construction.
  • Maintains a professional, consultative sales process to ensure the best fit of products and services for prospects, maximizing revenue and profitability while maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Consistently achieve a monthly sales quota with various targeted metrics.
  • Meet established activity targets and key performance indicators, including outbound calls per day, follow-up calls, quotes sent, sales, and connections.
  • Effectively balance new lead generation versus follow-up efforts with a strong follow-up plan to increase sales conversion rates.
  • Handle all prospects with courtesy and professionalism; establish and maintain high prospect satisfaction.
  • Work as part of a sales team, collaborate, share successes and challenges, and foster a positive environment.
  • Engage Sales Engineering resources to properly solution customers.
  • Leverage outbound calls, inbound calls, video meetings, email, chat, and other mediums to acquire sales.
  • Engage in deep discovery with prospects to determine opportunity disposition and transfer leads when out-of-scope.
  • Utilize all sales technology tools such as Sales Engagement Platform, Network Mapping Application, CRM, etc., to maximize efficiency.
  • Input orders in multiple systems, track customers through to installation, and maintain customer data in CRM.
  • Stay informed on industry, customer, and competitor developments, as well as company promotions, pricing, and product offerings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two (2) years inside/outside sales experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
  • Undergraduate college degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of sales tools and techniques.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Understanding of billing and order entry systems in telecommunications or similar products.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to conduct needs analysis, overcome objections, develop sales pitches, and close sales effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple prospects, pay attention to detail, respond quickly to changing needs, and organize effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adequate internet bandwidth and reliability for remote work.

Nice to Have

  • Technical training or knowledge in telecommunications or related fields.
