This position is responsible for reviewing unpaid invoices, maintaining accuracy and production in claims processing, and supporting the organization’s financial operations. The role is on-site with potential for remote work after training and goal attainment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews ETM worklist to identify potential problem areas.
  • Contacts appropriate carriers to inquire on unpaid claims via websites and/or phone calls.
  • Reviews accounts receivable trends to report any consistent errors affecting claims processing.
  • Maintains knowledge of the ETM system.
  • Participates in monthly meetings with No Response/Billing Supervisor.
  • Communicates with No Response/Billing Supervisor regarding unusual circumstances such as adjustments, denials, fee schedules, and claims.
  • Performs duties as directed by Senior Representative, No Response/Billing Supervisor, and Accounts Receivable Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years previous medical billing experience preferred, with emphasis on research and claim denials in Accounts Receivable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physician billing and healthcare reimbursement; Medicare and Medicaid preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate; Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
  • Cooperative, positive, courteous, and professional behavior.
