About the Role

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Product Marketing Sr. Manager at our Chicago, IL location to act as a Subject Matter Expert in the product area by possessing a deep understanding of the product area total addressable market (TAM). The role involves representing the product's value and vision, defining market opportunities, influencing growth strategies, managing product communications, leading marketing planning, and collaborating across teams to ensure customer engagement and sales enablement. The position also includes leadership responsibilities such as managing teams, setting objectives, and supporting employee development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the product area value & vision to customers, partners, and analysts.
  • Define the Market Opportunity Map for your product area and create the Winning Plan in partnership with executive teams.
  • Identify and connect innovations built across multiple product teams.
  • Influence the Build/Buy/Partner strategy to maximize SAP's growth.
  • Own the product / feature release announcement process, including value positioning, messaging, branding, and public roadmap updates.
  • Determine under-performing product offerings for sunset and partner with leadership to exit products.
  • Collaborate in defining or leading packaging, pricing, and licensing plans for your product.
  • Contribute to the creation of product packages spanning multiple solution areas.
  • Evaluate and approve customer and partner incentives.
  • Lead the annual marketing planning process and determine marketing tactics and mix.
  • Serve as the business owner for Tier 1 SAP events and third-party industry events.
  • Ensure excellence in customer journey content, programs, and resources.
  • Collaborate with marketing and solutions teams to ensure quality and consistency of content and programs.
  • Own product communications to external audiences and serve as a spokesperson and evangelist.
  • Lead collaboration across marketing to define and deliver sales enablement content.
  • Build relationships with senior peers, share feedback, and manage managers or teams, including setting objectives, reviewing performance, and supporting career development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, with ten (10) years of experience, or a Master's degree with eight (8) years of experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience in designing, implementing, and testing technology solutions.
  • Four (4) years of experience analyzing business requirements and developing technical specifications.
  • Four (4) years of experience leading strategic projects such as digital transformations and merger integrations.
  • Four (4) years of experience developing product strategy and roadmaps based on market trends and customer needs.
  • At least one (1) year of experience defining marketing plans and campaigns to drive software adoption.
  • At least one (1) year of experience developing and executing account-specific business development plans.
  • At least one (1) year of experience designing market-specific growth plans for software products.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
