About the Role

The Sales Director - Customer Workflows (Retail) role at ServiceNow involves leading a sales team to drive new business growth within the retail vertical. Key Responsibilities

  • Build a team of direct Sales Executives to drive rapid new business sales growth in the region
  • Develop and execute sales strategy for the region in collaboration with Sales Operations, including understanding the competitive landscape and regional presence
  • Engage in territory planning, relationship development, and opportunity development to support and assist Field Sales Teams in closing opportunities
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor team members to drive excellence
  • Develop territories and quotas for the sales team and communicate performance expectations
  • Manage and report accurate forecast and pipeline data to the business
  • Achieve annual sales goals on a quarterly and yearly basis
  • Engage with C-level executives to understand customer business requirements
  • Build effective relationships with Solution Consulting, Business Units, Professional Services, Marketing, partners, and the ServiceNow executive team
  • Retain and grow existing customer base through regular non-sales engagement activities to deliver excellent customer experience

Requirements

  • Experience selling into or managing a team selling into the Retail vertical
  • Ability to be located anywhere in the United States with access to a major airport
  • Experience leveraging or critically thinking about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving
  • Extensive track record of new business sales success, including presentation and negotiation skills at industry and C-Level
  • Strong success in recruiting, coaching, and managing a sales team
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and financial planning skills to meet and exceed quotas
  • Ownership of accurate CRM reports, including forecasts and opportunity inspection
  • Experience in driving sales processes and working effectively with Sales Operations
  • Ability to understand broader business drivers and build long-term strategic relationships
  • Ability to adapt within a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Experience building self-motivated sales teams that embrace collaboration and overachievement
  • Proven ability to develop partner relationships and grow revenue streams through the partner ecosystem
  • Ownership of pipeline generation activities developed by marketing or partners

  • Experience with AI-powered tools, automating workflows, or analyzing AI-driven insights
  • Experience in the retail industry with a focus on technology solutions
