Job Description

About the Role

The Sales Manager works closely with the Sales Executives (internal and field-Sales Knot), coaching, consulting, and developing. Helping to reinforce the Kemper Auto Sales model (coaching), guiding the Sales Executives in optimizing decisions around sales activities (consulting), and shepherding the team of Sales Executives to continue individual growth. The position involves leading a sales team across Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio areas, with regular travel in the Central and North Florida region. Kemper is a leading specialized insurer committed to providing personalized solutions and fostering a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales employee hiring, training, and development to ensure a productive and effective sales team is working together on initiatives in support of overall company goals.
  • Provide effective leadership, communication, and collaboration with various departments and support functions.
  • Guide and coach Sales Executives to optimize sales activities and support their individual growth.
  • Help reinforce the Kemper Auto Sales model through coaching and consulting.
  • Support the team in executing on defined objectives and sales strategies.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of insurance experience, preferably in P&C, with a demonstrated track record of success in sales.
  • Management experience is preferred; experience as an individual contributor is required.
  • Commercial Auto lines experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Knowledge of insurance operations including underwriting, claims, marketing, and product.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and a self-starter.
  • Ability to manipulate, segment, and interpret report data through spreadsheets.
  • Strong time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office in Dallas, San Antonio, or Houston and travel regularly within the area.
