About the Role

The Sales Manager role is with a stealth-mode AI startup developing AI-driven tools to help local home-service SMBs respond to inbound customer requests and nurture repeat relationships. The position is based in the Greater Seattle Area, with a hybrid work model involving field visits, virtual meetings, and occasional in-person team sessions. The engagement starts as a 3-month contract with the potential to convert into full-time based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and prioritize a list of mid-sized local SMBs across the Puget Sound region, focusing on companies with roughly 5-30 field staff.
  • Conduct hybrid outreach through in-person visits, call blocks, short text/email follow-ups, and participation in local industry meetups.
  • Quantify response delays, scheduling friction, and repeat-business goals through discussions with owners or operations leads.
  • Demonstrate how AI-driven tools capture inbound inquiries and convert them into scheduled work, including positioning a time-boxed evaluation program.
  • Coordinate evaluation launches by connecting communication channels and tuning intake prompts in partnership with founders or solutions leads.
  • Track usage metrics such as interactions handled, bookings created, and admin time saved to build a clear ROI story and convert prospects to subscriptions.
  • Maintain accurate CRM stages, notes, and weekly forecasts.
  • Capture recurring product requests and deliver structured insights to the product team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of quota-carrying SMB or mid-market field or inside sales experience, preferably in software, tech-enabled services, or B2B tools.
  • Experience selling to owner-led local service businesses, such as home services or similar SMB categories.
  • Comfortable earning trust in short, outcome-driven conversations, sometimes on job sites or in busy shops.
  • Strong phone and virtual demo skills with clear follow-up communication.
  • Ability to turn activity data into ROI calculations during closing.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Puget Sound as needed.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with field service, scheduling, dispatch, or CRM tools from any vendor.
  • Experience selling AI, automation, customer response, or booking solutions.
  • Existing relationships with Seattle-area contractors or local business associations.
  • Prior startup or contract-to-hire experience and enthusiasm for early-stage startup environments.
