About the Role

As a Sales Producer on the Business Insurance team at Marsh McLennan Agency Midwest, you'll develop prospecting strategies, network with influential contacts, and deliver the company's value proposition to develop new business opportunities within the middle to upper-middle market segment. The role involves building relationships with clients and stakeholders, leveraging referrals, and aligning agency resources to meet client needs in a results-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive prospecting plan, including targets and methodology for converting prospects into clients.
  • Network with centers of influence to identify and develop new opportunities.
  • Deliver MMA's value proposition for each opportunity and coordinate agency resources accordingly.
  • Leverage referral and targeted introductions from clients, prospects, and business relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders, including C-Suite executives.
  • Proactively generate and grow a book of business through B2B selling.

Requirements

  • Proven success in prospecting and self-generating a book of business through B2B selling.
  • Proficient in asking the right questions to establish credibility and align services with client needs.
  • Experience in the middle to upper-middle market segment, typically generating between $25 million and $750 million in annual revenue.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including C-Suite executives.
  • Must be assertive yet consultative in approach.

Nice to Have

  • Property & Casualty license or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
  • BS/BA in Business, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Business insurance industry experience.
  • Proven track record in developing new clients and retaining existing relationships.
  • Competitive spirit in a collaborative sales environment.

  • Experience in prospecting and B2B sales.
  • Ability to build relationships with mid-market and upper-market clients.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
