About the Role

Walmart Creative Studio (WCS) is the in-house creative agency for Walmart. Our team develops breakthrough and distinctive omnichannel brand design systems that meet customer needs and drive business objectives while keeping our Fortune #1 brand relevant in culture. We are positioned as an internal creative agency hyper-focused on the customer experience across all channels, categories, campaigns, and touchpoints. We are ruthlessly focused on our customers, insight-driven creative strategies, and integrated solutions that build the brand and grow the business. The Associate Creative Director will support the Walmart Creative Studio in concept through execution for marketing/brand campaigns that will translate across multiple channels including site, email, paid social, and display ads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design and provide feedback of assets for projects across multiple user touchpoints-digital and paid social media to ensure they are on brand.
  • Aid in concepting for site/paid campaigns.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, site ops and integrated strategy to ensure creative cohesion at every touchpoint.
  • Convert a marketing strategy and overarching platform/visual into an executional style guide.
  • Manage projects, growth, and development of art directors and team of designers.
  • Ability to design assets and brand campaigns as needed.

Requirements

  • BA in Graphic Design or other relevant education, online portfolio is required.
  • 10+ years of professional design experience in advertising, e-commerce, and production.
  • 4+ years of management experience.
  • Ability to react quickly and be comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) and Microsoft Office.
  • Retouching (clipping, extending backgrounds, compositing etc.) and layout (type, color theory, hierarchy, balance) capabilities.
  • Understanding of responsive/adaptive design.
  • Ability to take direction and work well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Organized with diligent follow-through on every task.
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in Figma.
  • Understanding of print process and mechanicals.
  • Retail background.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • 3 years' experience in editorial content management or related field OR 5 years' experience in editorial content management or related field.
