Job Description

About the Role

The Senior Market Development Manager will develop and lead the US market development strategy and tactical execution of Teleflex's Standard Bariatrics portfolio, including products like the Titan SGS Stapler. The role involves achieving market development, revenue, and profit goals by managing activities from targeting to adoption, developing surgeon practice and patient marketing assets, and supporting global initiatives. The position requires interaction with surgeons, healthcare providers, and internal teams to promote innovative surgical solutions that improve patient outcomes within a healthcare environment driven by purpose and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute annual operating plan with full Sales alignment and implementation.
  • Manage and optimize the customer funnel including initial targeting, VAC approval, professional education, adoption, and retention.
  • Develop the market development protocol and operationalize into Professional Education, Sales Training, and Marketing deployment.
  • Develop and continuously improve procedural and product training content for multiple sales training sessions throughout the year.
  • Build and support KOL network in the US and support networks in EMEA, APAC, and LATAM.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with bariatric societies such as ASMBS, IFSO, and IBC Oxford to facilitate outcomes sharing and product adoption.
  • Develop and execute promotional presence at major conventions and regional meetings to increase procedural and brand awareness and generate sales leads.
  • Deploy practice marketing strategies, including a new marketing kit for hospital and surgeon practices to improve adoption.
  • Lead development and delivery of a patient-centric website to inform and attract patients seeking surgeons performing the Titan Sleeve Technique.
  • Support tactical marketing programs and assets that drive revenue through product segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies.
  • Partner with Corporate Accounts to pursue large IDN and GPO positions, deliver customer presentations, respond to RFPs, and develop sales launch packages upon awards.
  • Perform US sales forecasting and support global market needs to ensure supply adequacy.
  • Develop and execute 5-year global brand strategies, understanding customer needs, procedural trends, and competition.
  • Lead marketing efforts on new product development and sustaining projects, including evidence generation and outcome analysis.
  • Support global marketing strategies, monitor complaint data, and ensure adherence to company policies and ethics.

Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree (BA/BS); MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of sales, marketing, and market development experience with surgical medical devices in the OR setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and experience in the OR.
  • Fully credentialed to enter the OR.
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience moving innovative technology from surgeon innovators through early majority.
  • Experience in portfolio management, brand strategy, new product development, market research, positioning, messaging, and segmentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills externally and internally.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills.
  • Advanced communication skills to gain alignment with senior management.
  • Ability to drive focus and prioritization.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience supporting / marketing to HCP practices and patients is a plus.
  • Experience managing and growing Society partnerships is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Bariatric surgery clinical, sales, marketing, and KOL relationship experience.
  • Experience introducing innovative technology into a competitive market with large incumbents.
  • Deep knowledge of laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures in general surgery.
  • Expertise with endostapling technology.
  • Digital marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated KOL development and partnership skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS); MBA preferred.
