Key Responsibilities

  • Acquire, build, and cultivate relationships within senior leadership at independent advertising agencies, particularly within the Independents Team.
  • Work collectively with Sales, Client Services, and Trading teams to grow accounts.
  • Own relationships with commercial and contract leads at anchor independent agencies.
  • Communicate the value of The Trade Desk's media buying platform by aligning it with client needs.
  • Drive measurement-led conversations to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Participate in product road map discussions based on agency needs with senior leadership, product, and engineering teams.
  • Build proactive recommendations, RFPs, and expand relationships within clients beyond media, owning agency relationships top-down.
  • Work closely with product, marketing, and revenue teams to optimize efforts related to company-wide goals.
  • Identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators based on market and competitor knowledge.
  • Contribute to The Trade Desk culture with a strong growth mindset.
  • Identify and close strategic up-selling opportunities by understanding core client business needs.
  • Build deep and lasting internal cross-functional connections across departments and specialty functions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in digital advertising sales.
  • Experience at an online publisher, ad network, ad exchange, ad server, DSP, or other online advertising role.
  • Strong ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Existing relationships with decision makers at major agencies and advertisers.
  • Experience establishing longstanding, consultative client relationships.
  • Strong quantitative skills and negotiation ability to lead commercial negotiations for large accounts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with VP and C-level clients at agencies and brands.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue expectations in a highly collaborative environment.

Nice to Have

  • Independent agency experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience at an online publisher, ad network, ad exchange, ad server, DSP, or other online advertising role.
  • Programmatic platform sales experience highly preferred.
