The Sr. Director, Business Development - Channel Partnerships is responsible for managing strategic relationships with major partners to drive adoption and growth for Paze, supporting issuer enablement, and leading a team to build long-term partnerships across the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop trusted, influential partnerships with key senior decision makers at our largest, most strategic accounts, including Paze advisory and operating committee members and leaders in product/digital, marketing, risk, technology, or other functions critical to Paze's success.
  • Own and manage assigned strategic accounts, understanding partner organizational structure, decision-making processes, company performance, strategic initiatives, and Paze performance metrics.
  • Create and execute overall strategic account plans (annual, quarterly, and monthly) in coordination with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Present the value of Paze to external partnership teams, instilling confidence, gaining buy-in, and navigating complex discussions to sign agreements.
  • Lead the activities for the Issuer Channel Partnerships group, developing and executing strategies to achieve key business objectives and providing leadership to the team.
  • Manage post-integration relationships with partners, tracking growth, identifying new engagement opportunities, and leading quarterly business reviews.
  • Lead new business development and innovation efforts, fostering both Paze-initiated and partner-generated opportunities.
  • Influence and negotiate with partners, presenting and defending complex or delicate issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services and partnership management.
  • 5+ years managing a team, directly or indirectly, with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Experience structuring partnerships with issuer processors and other payment channel partners.
  • Ability to develop senior-level collaborative relationships with ecosystem providers to drive broad adoption of Paze services.
  • Proven sales and senior partner management experience in payments-focused technology solutions, emphasizing revenue generation.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to sell concepts internally and externally at the senior level.
  • Excellent executive communication skills, including impactful meetings, written communication, and presentations.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior executives at top-tier banks.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage ambiguity and deliver results with minimal oversight.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating opportunities and tracking performance.
  • Expertise in building business cases, including strategy development, market segmentation, competitive analysis, and financial analysis.

  • Experience working with legacy and modern issuer processors and payment channel partners.
  • Background in the financial services industry with a focus on payments and revenue growth.
  • Experience in strategic, conceptual, and consultative selling.

Qualifications

  • Educational background with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in financial services and partnership management.
  • 5+ years of team management experience.
