Sr. Director of Storage Product Marketing

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Define the role of Product & Solution Marketing for Storage within HPE, and lead the transformation of the PSM team and broader marketing organization in new ways of working.
• Build a high functioning product marketing team, including assessing required skills, providing coaching and development, managing performance, and recruiting talent.
• Collaborate with multiple Business Units and Sales teams to develop an annual go-to-market strategy that includes target audiences, hero products, key positioning, and customer needs.
• Own the messaging and positioning for core products, understand buyer personas, and develop differentiated content for each customer segment.
• Lead cross-functional teams to launch new products and capabilities, and drive ongoing thought leadership in relevant markets.
• Develop materials to support sales, marketing, and revenue teams in capturing product demand, including building writing and presentation skills within the team.
• Drive demand programs such as thought leadership, content marketing, events, ABM, and earned media to grow HPE's share in target areas.
• Collect and communicate customer, competitive, and industry insights to keep marketing teams aligned with external trends.
• Act as an advocate for marketing within the Business Unit, the voice of the customer within the product organization, and a BU advocate within the broader marketing team.
• Track and analyze competitive intelligence, acting as a subject matter expert on competitive activity.

Requirements

• 10+ years in product marketing, specifically with recent senior roles in Storage product marketing.
• 5+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• Solid understanding of marketing functions to effectively partner with other teams.
• Ability to craft clear, differentiated stories that resonate in the market.
• Strong writing and presentation skills with a bias toward content development.
• A growth-oriented people leader with a history of developing high-performing teams.
• Ability to get work done through others and operate at scale.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with market analysis and competitive intelligence.
• Knowledge of demand generation programs and go-to-market strategies.
• Familiarity with the storage technology landscape.
