Job Description

About the Role

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with new or existing customers in the ocean and freight forward industry. Oversees customer accounts, strategically develops solutions to meet customer needs, and drives sales and profits. Monitors industry trends and competitor actions to identify new sales opportunities and ensure effective responses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strategic partnerships for the company's ocean and freight forward business.
  • Demonstrate an agile mindset, lead by example, and embrace change, with attentive listening to business objectives.
  • Develop customer accounts on a global scale, driving growth through high-level strategies and leading account growth for effective execution.
  • Prospect target customers through proactive networking and leveraging existing relationships within the broader FedEx enterprise.
  • Develop sales strategies for deploying the company's services to customer opportunities within ocean and freight business.
  • Ensure attainment of revenue and margin/yield goals for assigned accounts.
  • Formulate and develop comprehensive business plans for each account.
  • Address sales growth activities, competitive pricing strategies, and coordinate customer-based activities globally.
  • Engage with customers at a senior level to assess satisfaction, manage critical situations with at-risk accounts, and proactively address customer needs.
  • Collaborate across functional areas to develop solutions, proposals, and pricing models.
  • Attend sales calls to define opportunities and develop value propositions for account closure.
  • Manage the proposal and presentation process, ensuring data accuracy and up-to-date information.
  • Provide weekly reporting on all accounts in stages for new business development.
  • Lead efforts to move potential customers through the sales cycle in a professional, passionate, and engaging manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and eight (8) years of ocean and freight forward sales experience.
  • Experience selling to C-Suite Executives is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with logistics processes, solutions, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of ocean freight import process from issuance to final delivery.
  • Successful experience selling solutions globally to customers of varying size and complexity.
  • Ability to achieve major account sales goals and plan and execute major customer sales strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop effective customer and employee relationships.
  • Strategic planning and sales management skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience based out of Dallas or nearby to work remotely from Dallas, TX.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Eight (8) years of relevant sales experience in ocean and freight forwarding
