About the Role

This position is responsible for managing agency distribution in the Cleveland/Akron, Ohio territory to achieve strategic and operational goals. The role involves leading Commercial Lines production, supporting profitability for Personal Lines, and collaborating with internal teams and external agencies to build long-term, profitable partnerships. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage agency prospecting, onboarding, development, and reviews, including creating and implementing action plans.
  • Build larger and deeper partnerships with high-potential agencies and monitor business development aligned with corporate strategies.
  • Establish and promote the company as a trusted advisor by educating agencies on products, services, and systems, and communicating company strategies and initiatives.
  • Drive profitable new business and build the Commercial Lines pipeline through collaboration with Underwriting and agency engagement.
  • Leverage agency compensation tools such as commissions, profit sharing, and incentives to motivate and reward agency performance.
  • Lead and support internal teams and business partners to identify opportunities, solve problems, and share industry insights.
  • Plan and execute agency engagement strategies to foster results-driven relationships with agency owners, managers, and staff.
  • Apply the Enterprise Sales Difference (ESD) process to develop long-term, profitable agency partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of insurance sales and management experience with demonstrated revenue growth.
  • Proven success in developing partnerships, decision making, and problem solving.
  • Knowledge of production management, claims, underwriting, and agency operations.
  • Effective communication, presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead crucial conversations and resolve conflicts.
  • Strong customer focus, interpersonal skills, and business analytics capabilities.
  • Excellent time management, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and think strategically.
  • Must be licensed if required by the state and able to travel daily with occasional overnight trips.
  • Reside in or near the Cleveland/Akron, Ohio territory and maintain an acceptable driving record.

  • Experience with marketing principles.
  • Experience in building and managing agency relationships in the insurance industry.
