The role of Vice President, Business Development for the Environment & Infrastructure (E&I) Business Unit involves leading growth initiatives, managing client relationships, and overseeing business development processes within the E&I market space, supporting critical infrastructure, environment, research infrastructure, and energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multi-billion-dollar pipeline with goals related to awards, submits, and qualified pipeline. Maximize Pwin for top opportunities. Drive volume, velocity, variety, veracity, and value of pipeline by identifying, qualifying, capturing, and submitting quality opportunities aligned to the E&I strategy.
  • Develop and maintain relevant and influential relationships with government clients. Implement best practices for client organization mapping, call plan development, and targeted client conversations. Manage annual conference list, including participation approach and coordination with E&I BU.
  • Partner with E&I BU in refresh of the strategy to ensure market and client relevance, on an ongoing basis. Evangelize voice-of-customer by identifying and developing new/adjacent markets/clients. Maintain awareness and communicate movements pertaining to competitive landscape.
  • Lead and manage excellence in business development processes, best practices, and culture. Manage momentum in gate reviews, capture reviews, market assessments, and targeted IR D investments. Oversee the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool - Microsoft Dynamics 365 - to ensure quality of pipeline data. Utilize Microsoft PowerBI to track pipeline progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, at a minimum; Master's degree in business or a related field preferred.
  • Over 15 years of experience in winning new business for government missions in federal civilian and defense agencies, including DoD organizations, federal civil or defense business development or government contracting.
  • Existing network of clients in relevant government agencies such as DoD (Air Force, Army, Navy), NSF, DOE, DHS, with the ability to leverage relationships for new opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and motivate a business development team and BU partners.
  • Experience and knowledge of government acquisition procedures and timelines.
  • Proven track record of winning opportunities with government clients.
  • Experience managing multi-billion-dollar pipeline of opportunities from $5M to $1B.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
