About the Role

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a growing, dynamic organization with a social mission to offer hope, is seeking a VP, Business Development to join their award-winning team. The role involves performing meaningful work in a culture that welcomes innovation, encourages creative expression, and offers limitless potential for personal and professional satisfaction. The Vice President of Business Development (VP) is the front-line sales executive working with targeted school districts to sell-in ChanceLight Education services, building deep and broad relationships within targeted markets, and navigating financial, operational, and academic performance issues. Extensive travel throughout Illinois is expected given the hands-on nature of the selling process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibiting strong identification, buy-in and passion for the mission of high-quality education.
  • Developing and managing related business development plans for the assigned region in order to deliver on established revenue goals.
  • Leveraging strong knowledge of relevant lines of business to seize cross channel selling opportunities as they arise.
  • Utilizing corporate CRM software to track leads/projects, contacts, account development and pipeline specifics.
  • Identifying and establishing strong relationships with key decision makers within targeted states and school districts.
  • Managing and executing service contracts including conducting evaluations of district needs, performing ROI analyses, persuading key decision makers, negotiating contract parameters, and obtaining final approvals.
  • Working closely with peers and leadership to share best practices and support large-scale initiatives.
  • Ensuring referral contact information is updated and activity outcomes are properly recorded.
  • Structuring workload and workflow independently to maximize productivity, often working remotely or on the road.
  • Maintaining a schedule of periodic contact with current and previous customers to inquire about satisfaction and additional needs.
  • Scheduling and coordinating travel activities to promote company services efficiently.
  • Keeping EVP informed regarding development, progress, and modifications of strategic business development plans.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field of study.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
  • Confidence in cold calls and meetings with individuals of all levels to initiate dialogue about their needs and ChanceLight services.
  • Highly skilled in customer engagement and effective communication tactics.
  • History of success in building credibility, making quick decisions, delivering results, and demonstrating resilience.
  • Self-confidence, focus on execution, and motivation to impact the organization.
  • Collaborative team player who is innovative, curious, and able to operate among bright and charismatic people.
  • Embraces feedback, continuous learning, and ongoing self-improvement.
  • Highly self-motivated and capable of working in a responsibility-driven, metrics and data-focused environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with school districts or in education sales.
  • Knowledge of CRM software and sales pipeline management.
  • Ability to navigate financial, operational, and academic issues in education settings.
